Geoffrey Boleyn

Sir Geoffrey Boleyn (1406–1463) was a London merchant and Lord Mayor.

Life

Geoffrey Boleyn, the son of Sir Thomas Boleyn and Alice Bracton, was a wealthy London mercer. He served as a Sheriff of London in 1447, as alderman of the City of London in 1452, and Lord Mayor of London in 1457/8,[1] and was knighted by King Henry VI.[2] He purchased the manor of Blickling in Norfolk from Sir John Fastolf in 1452, and Hever Castle in Kent in 1462.[2]

Sir Geoffrey Boleyn married Anne Hoo, the only child of Sir Thomas Hoo (d. 13 February 1455) by his first wife Elizabeth Wychingham, and they had:

Sir Geoffrey Boleyn died in 1471.[2] He and his wife Anne were the great-grandparents of Queen Anne Boleyn.
